Hello, Welcome to my final year project page.

Am Mwebesa Joseph 11/U/16298/EVE one of the members of BSE 15-09

doing a bachelor’s degree in software engineering.

For one to complete and be awarded a degree in software engineering,  

One of the requirements is coming up with a complete final year project.

I will share what we as a group have done and what i have contributed towards the completion of the project.  

CONCEPT PAPER 

We met as a group at the beginning of the semester to decide on which project we are to work on and every one presented a different idea.

After sharing many different ideas, we decided to take up a card-less instant electricity payment system for Bundibugyo district, Ntoroko district, and the surrounding areas as our final year project since one of our group mate comes from the same area. I agreed to the idea because he was able to share firsthand experience to the problem we are facing and the feasibility of the project was complete from the different ideas shared. 

We had a better understanding of the problem and it would be able to solve it.

We started working on the concept paper which was approved by our supervisor.

 PROPOSAL WRITING

Now that our concept paper has been approved, we have started working on the proposal. During the meetings with our supervisor, he made corrections to the first draft that we presented stating that we should improve on the problem statement, scope, literature reviews she describe the problem we r trying to solve and explain how we are going to solve the stated problem. We corrected the mistakes we had made and the proposal got approved.

REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT WRITING

  I analyzed the collected and necessary requirements that we needed. I did this through designing the some questions and also analyzing the feedback from clients and other different people that my colleagues questioned using different questionnaires.   

DESIGN DOCUMENT  

I was assigned section 3 of the design document which was the system architecture.Under this section,  i constructed  

Architectural diagram that displayed all the participants of the system and how each participant will participate with each other;

Decomposition Description. A Component Diagram of the  Card-less instant electricity payment system depicting the decomposition of the system.

Under the decomposition description, the system is decomposed into four major components namely;

          i.            The meter: This computes and displays the current or available units.

        ii.            Customer:  Participates in buying units from the system

      iii.            Server : Receives messages and forwards payment information to the meter through a GSM modem

      iv.            Database: The data base stores payment statistics

 

REPORT  

I was assigned parts 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8 and 4.2.6, 4.2.7, 4.2.8 and 4.2.9 of the report writing .
These sections were about testing and validation of our system .It also covered limitations of our system, safety  and precautionary measures taken in case the systems fails.
