One of the requirements for accomplishment of a bachelors degree in software engineering at Makerere University is coming up with a complete project. On my page, i will always report or post about personal contribution as regards the project. As a group, after sharing many different ideas, we decided to take up a card-less instant electricity payment system for Bundibugyo district, Ntoroko district, and the surrounding areas as our final year project. I agreed to the idea because, the feasibility of the project was complete from the different ideas shared. For every activity that we shall go through, I will have a report of my personal contribution. The different activities include the following;

1.    CONCEPT PAPER WRITING

I wrote the first draft of the concept paper. This gave me a clear understanding of what the project is solving or rather the problem statement. My colleagues made some additions and subtractions on the first draft which made it much better. 
  

2.    PROPOSAL WRITING

Since our concept paper has been approved, we have started with the proposal. I have as well made the first draft of the proposal. I have put great emphasis on sections like the literature reviews and methodology as they vital sections.

3.    REQUIREMENTS COLLECTION PROCESS

Once our supervisor approved our proposal, we started to collect all requirements. I drafted the clients’ questionnaire that we used for requirements collection. All members of the group approved the questionnaire. I contributed towards ensuring that the questionnaires were all filled and returned. We also had other questionnaires that we used for collecting the requirements. I analyzed information from the different kinds of questionnaires that we received back. I shared the information that I analyzed with the group and we come up with only what was necessary. This was easy because every group member has information to share.

4.    REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT WRITING

Towards the requirements documentation, I collected the necessary requirements that we needed. I did this through designing the clients’ questionnaire and also analyzing the feedback from clients and other different people that my colleagues questioned using different questionnaires. 
we are looking forward to documenting the design  of the project as our next activity.

Welcome to the second phase of the Cardless instant electricity payment system. This phase includes writing a design document, implementing the system and finally writing a report for the entire project. My contributions include the following;

Contributions to writing the design document

The different sections am dealing with include the following;

INTRODUCTION

This includes the purpose, scope, over view, reference material, definitions and acronyms. To explain briefly about each of them;

        i.            Purpose

This explains the purpose of the software design document towards the development of this project. It explains and describes the architecture and system design of the project. In brief, this document guides the programmers and designers of the system on how to go about the architecture and design.

      ii.            System overview

This explains how the system will be structured to satisfy the requirements of the product.

    iii.            Reference material

This shows the different references that we used to acquire all the information that we got. The references are in the IEEE referencing format.

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

This describes the system architecture though an architectural diagram that I have designed and explained perfectly.

Contributions to implementing the project

I contributed to writing scripts that programmed the sensor.

i.                    I contributed in designing the user interface for  the project

ii.                  I contributed to functionality of the USSD service

iii.                I bought some of the equipment that we need to have the system complete like the sensor

I gave a perfect conclusion for the entire report as I took time to read all sections. I also sketched the interfaces that we preferred to use for our project
